Making macrame with other people is completely dif

Making macrame with other people is completely different than making alone. 🍀

I usually design as I make, measuring, calculating, deciding. But this time, I followed someone else’s pattern (thank you Laura!). A big chandelier with long tassels that took the whole weekend to unfold. And I wanted to just follow. Just be present. Just knot. 🥰

Usually when I’m making at home, I have a podcast on or a book playing. But this was different. There was music, and conversation, and laughter about life and love and everything in between. Nine of us in the nature of southern Spain, and somehow in the middle of all that togetherness, I found the quietest part of my own mind.

That’s what surprised me. That being with people would feel meditative. That not designing would feel like rest. That making together would be so different from making alone.

If you’ve ever wanted to take a craft class, or go on a creative retreat, or just sit down with friends and make something, anything, do it. Your hands do the work, but your whole self gets to settle in the relaxing company. And when you’re surrounded by kind people, all doing the same thing, it becomes something else entirely. 💛

This is what community feels like. It felt like home. So much gratitude to Laura @drawingknots for bringing us all together and making this happen, to @lasiestadelnaranjo for the most beautiful space and such generous hosting, and to all my new friends. Making with you these three days was everything. ✨

New tutorial drop! ✨ Say hello to the Nova necklac

New tutorial drop! ✨ Say hello to the Nova necklace, a macrame statement necklace made from t-shirt yarn and golden tube beads. It looks like it took way more effort than it actually did, which is my favourite kind of project!

What you need to know:
- Beginner friendly project
- Takes about 30 to 45 minutes
- We’re using just two knots!

And you can really make this necklace your own: swap the gold beads for any colour or shape, use cotton cord instead of t-shirt yarn, or make it with kids using pasta tubes as beads! 🍝 And maybe dye the macaroni first?? So fun!

Easter is coming and I have just the project for you! 🐰 This boho macrame plant hanger is perfect for beginners as it's easy, fun, and you'll have it finished in about 2 hours. You can add the optional bunny ears for a little seasonal charm, or keep it classic all year round. And as extra: the bunny ears also double as the cutest napkin holders for your Easter table! How cute is that?? 🐰

I made mine with Bobbiny's 5mm cord, but you can use whatever cord you have! It fits a 15cm (6") pot and is super easy to adjust to your liking.

Why can macrame be a super powerful way to calm down? Not because it’s magic ✨, but because it gives your brain and body a few very specific things they’re craving:

- A single point of focus. Watching the cords and counting repeats pulls your attention out of spiraling thoughts and into the present moment.

- A steady rhythm. Repetitive hand movements can feel regulating, like a metronome for your body when everything else feels chaotic.

- A real “I did something” win. Stress steals your sense of control. Making visible progress, even a few flowers at a time, gives your brain a little boost of safety and competence.

New tutorial drop!!! 🌼 Say hello to the Marigold shoulder bag 💛

A little “flower power” moment in mustard + off-white, made with a super meditative repeating pattern (aka: put on a podcast and disappear into knot-land 😅).

What you need to know:
• Intermediate level
• Around 12 hours total (about 9 hours of knotting)
• You’ll knot a flat rectangle first, then fold + sew it into the bag (the flat-to-3D transformation is SO satisfying)

This one was actually named by our community (Janet, thank you! 🫶) and it feels very “we made this together”.
