Lately I’ve needed this reminder more than ever: Your worth is NOT tied to how productive you are.

It’s so easy to feel guilty when we’re not creating at full speed—especially when creativity is part of our work. But rest isn’t stepping away… it’s stepping toward your next creative season.

When you give yourself space to breathe, inspiration has room to return. Sometimes the most productive thing you can do is rest, refill your cup, and trust that your creative flow will come back when it’s ready. And it will.

I wasn’t sure I wanted to share all this, but being vulnerable has a way of connecting us in the most unexpected ways. This year has been, and will be, heavy — with divorce, grief, healing — but also full of moments where I’m shaping a new future through creativity, vulnerability, and courage to open new doors and experience joy. ✨

My Orion macrame lampshade tutorial is now also available on Etsy. 💛

I named this design Orion, inspired by the constellation that has guided travelers for centuries. With its iconic Belt, Orion symbolizes clarity and direction, helping navigators find their way. My hope is that this lampshade brings that same warmth and guiding light into your space.

Project details:
▫️ Cord needed: 51 meters (56 yards) of 3mm macrame cord (You can use any 3mm cord, but I used 3mm twisted cotton cord from Moppari by Suomen Lanka.)
▫️ Skill level: Intermediate
▫️ Time required: 4-5 hours
▫️ Finished size: Height: 12cm (5 inches). Top diameter: 11.5cm (4.5 inches). Bottom diameter: 14.5cm (6 inches)

And in case you want to adjust the design for different lamp or cord sizes? No problem - I’ll show you how to adjust the cord length to fit your project.
