Description
How would you like the idea of making a macrame pixel portrait of your loved one? Or gift one to a loved one, made with your own two hands? Yes? Keep reading.
This offer is a little bit different from the rest of my tutorials – this is a collaboration between YOU and I!
Here’s how it works
- You pick a portrait photo of your loved one (can be human, animal, or whatever you’d like).
- I transform it into a pixel blueprint (with numbers for colors)
- Once we agree on the blueprint, I send it to you in a printable format together with the estimate cord needs and a step-by-step tutorial
- You buy the cords and make loads of knots (trust me, there are thousands. This is a big project!)
- The final wall hanging? Keep it, enjoy it, gift it, sell it – that’s up to you! But please do send me a photo, I get very attached to the stories behind these portraits. 😅
What kind of photo would work?
- The subject should be upfront and central in your photo. Details of facial expressions and eyes especially will not look clean if the subject is too far. If you do not have a photo editing software I can always crop the photo for you.
- Clear background, preferably white or black. Noisy background will result in a messy look.
- Eyes need to be well lit. If the eyes are too dark in the photo the expression will not be clear.
- There are no requirements for the size of the photo. A small photo can work just fine.
Other FAQs
- Macrame skill level: Intermediate (includes loads of knotting from your part!)
- Size: Depends on you & your desires. Minimum size for the blueprint is 70×70 pixels/knots so that enough detail is shown on the subject’s face.
- Format: Blueprint will be delivered to you in a printable format together with written, photo, and video tutorials, as well as the estimate cord needs.
