Can you guess what my 𝐬𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢

Can you guess what my 𝐬𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐭 husband said to me when I showed him my new macrame snowflake coaster design? 😅 He said that my design is wrong - snowflakes have six sides! ❄️

Apparently most snowflakes have six sides because of the molecular structure of water. When water freezes, the molecules arrange themselves in a hexagonal pattern due to hydrogen bonding. This hexagonal symmetry is the most stable configuration for ice crystals, so as the snowflake grows, it naturally develops in a six-sided shape. Did you know? How awesome is it to learn something new every day? 😆

Anyway, my snowflake has 8 sides because I like it like that. We can call it a star if it can't be a snowflake right??

This macrame star ornament is an oldie but goodie. Probably made in 2020? But I still love them and hang them every year around the house! It's a super easy and quick macrame decor that everyone can make, no matter how experienced you are.

Here comes the latest macrame pattern I launched earlier this month at Macrame Makers Club. We’re getting ready for the holiday spirit! ✨

Here are the specs for this tutorial:
- I recommend this project for the intermediate macrame maker, or a very confident beginner
- One snowflake takes about 30 minutes to an hour to make
- I used synthetic cord for these because the finishing of the edges is so easy and the end result is satisfyingly neat! 😅

- You'll need about 66m of 5mm braided cord
- Scissors and tape measure
- Macrame board and pins
- Crochet hook or knitting needle
- In 3-4 hours you can knot one 38cm/15" placemat.
