Halloween plans? Here’s an idea for a quick DIY costume! 🦇

It’s a macrame bat mask, ears and all, knotted in about 2 to 3 hours with 2-3mm synthetic cord. Tie it on with a ribbon and you’re ready for Saturday (or whatever costume party comes your way).

It’s an intermediate project, and the full step-by-step video tutorial is inside Macrame Makers Club.

New here? I’m Tuija, I make macrame in Barcelona and teach it inside Macrame Makers Club: step-by-step video tutorials for wall hangings, plant hangers and little decor makes. Link in bio :)

Me, four days before Halloween: “I should probably show you some Halloween decor ideas.” 🤣🎃👻

I’ve had little pumpkins (and a few spooky pixel friends) sitting on my shelf for weeks already. Planning ahead to post on Instagram is clearly my strongest skill…

But the good news is that this little 3D macrame pumpkin project takes about 2 hours, so there’s still time to make one (or three) before Saturday 🎃

Comment PUMPKIN and I’ll send you the link to buy the pattern.

BCN, as in Barcelona. My new home needed a big piece for the living room wall, so I made one. 😍

Swipe for the close-ups (the tassels are my favourite part, sooo soft).

The full step by step video tutorial is inside Macrame Makers Club. Comment BCN and I'll send you the link :)

My assistants and I. ❤️ Over 600 meters of macrame cord, and it’s finally up on my living room wall!

I moved into a new flat here in Barcelona not long ago, and I’ve been slowly making it feel like home. With loads of macrame of course!

This one is called BCN (short for Barcelona!), and it’s the biggest piece I’ve ever knotted. Seeing it on the wall for the first time... I’m still so excited about it. It’s the moment the living room started to feel like home.

If you’ve got a big wall waiting for something, the full step by step video tutorial is inside Macrame Makers Club:

- 170 x 100 cm (67 x 40 inches)
- Around 20 to 30 hours to make
- Intermediate level
- About 610m (670 yards) of 5mm single strand and braided cord

Comment BCN and start your own statement wall hanging! 🤍

And that’s a wrap!! Every knot tied, every step filmed (gosh I hope so!), every bit of cord swept from the floor (mostly). I think I need to lie down now. 🤣

The pattern for this big wall hanging (almost 2m wide!) is coming out in the next two days!

It’s today! 🌼 My macrame flower keychain class is up in the @hobbyscool Art of Handmade Summit, and I’d love for you to make it with me.

Here’s the lovely part: the class is not live, it’s pre-recorded, so there’s no set time to be anywhere. It’s yours to watch whenever suits you, and it stays up free for a full 24 hours today. Make it with your morning coffee or after dinner, whatever fits your day :)

We’re making a daisy keychain: a little column of white daisies with sunny yellow centres on a braided strap. Just a few basic knots, about half an hour, and no experience needed at all. A really friendly one if you’ve been meaning to give macrame a go.

And mine is just one of today’s classes. There’s a whole day of making on: embroidery, polymer clay, paper crafts and loads more, all free to watch for 24 hours too.

It’s completely free to join. And if you find yourself wanting to keep them, the VIP summit pass gives you forever access to every class from all three days, mine included, so you can go back and make along whenever you like.

Comment HOBBY and I’ll send you the link :)

Geometric on top, functional on the bottom 🌿 This

Geometric on top, functional on the bottom 🌿 This month’s new tutorial is a wall plant hanger that starts as a diamond panel of clove hitches and turns into a little basket for your plant.

Intermediate level, about 2 hours, one 5mm cord.

The full step by step is up now for Macrame Makers Club. Comment “links” and I’ll send you the link for the 7 day free trial. :)

The top part of the plant hanger is attached to a little dowel that can hang off the wall, or independently off a hanging hook. Depending on the size of your plant the geometric pattern is visible just above it!

The net where you place the plant pot with is adjustable for different sizes of plants. My pot is 14cm or 5.5 inches wide.

My little plant loves her new sunny spot!

I’ve got some fun news 🥰 I’m one of 33 makers teac
